MAT 124 - Statistics I Sampling theory, organization and presentation of data, measures of central tendency, variance, standard deviation, exploratory data analysis, correlation and regression, normal distributions, student’s t-distributions, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, use of a statistical software package, bootstrapping, and randomization techniques. This course requires MAT 093 Integrated Arithmetic and Basic Algebra, or equivalent background knowledge.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Interpret and draw inferences from appropriate models such as formulas, graphs, tables, or schematics.
- Represent mathematical information symbolically, visually, numerically, or verbally as appropriate.
