SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college supervised by the State University of New York, sponsored by the County of Broome, and governed by a Board of Trustees. It offers programs designed to prepare graduates for immediate employment (Associate in Applied Science degrees and Associate of Occupational Study) and for transfer to four-year colleges and universities (Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees). The College also sponsors a variety of certificates, short-term training programs, and non-credit community education courses.

College History
SUNY Broome Community College was chartered as a New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences at Binghamton in 1946. Throughout its history, the College has continuously evolved to meet the needs of the community, remaining dedicated to fostering educational opportunities for all. Campus Setting
Binghamton is centrally located in the State of New York, 45 miles from Ithaca, 70 miles from Syracuse, and about 200 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Routes I-81, I-88, and NY 17/I-86 pass through the city.
Binghamton, Endicott, and Johnson City make up the Triple Cities, an urban metropolitan area that offers a sophisticated cultural life along with easily accessible outdoor recreational opportunities. Major employers are United Health Services, Endicott Interconnect Technologies, Lourdes Hospital, IBM, Maines Paper and Food Service, Lockheed Martin, and Binghamton University (one of SUNY’s four University Centers, located a few miles from SUNY Broome).
SUNY Broome Community College’s campus is located three miles north of Binghamton on Upper Front Street, which is Route 11 alongside Interstate 81. The campus is landscaped with a variety of trees and open green spaces and has a hillside backdrop; four of its 15 buildings face a major quadrangle. The Culinary & Event Center (CEC) houses SUNY Broome’s popular Hospitality programs. This beautiful historic space was originally funded by famed philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1904. It housed the Binghamton Library for 96 years. Now, it includes state-of-the-art amenities such as special event spaces, a lecture hall, bartending and beverage labs, a garde manger kitchen and more.
SUNY Broome Community College Foundation
SUNY Broome Community College Foundation is a self-supporting not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation established in 1965 by BCC Trustees and community leaders. The Foundation’s primary purpose is to raise, invest, and administer private funds to benefit SUNY Broome Community College, its students, and its faculty. The Foundation’s top priority is to assist students with grants-in-aid and scholarships, but its charter also calls for assisting faculty and staff by helping fund their professional development and training, and providing the College with equipment, funding for special projects to improve campus facilities, and other items for which public funds are either insufficient or unavailable. The Foundation serves as the primary point of contact and conduit for all private gifts to the College. Gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
In addition to annual gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, students, business and industry, community friends, organizations and foundations, the Foundation has endowment and other funds of approximately $47 million which help support its programs and activities.

The College’s Alumni Engagement program provides the link to over 50,000 alumni worldwide. News of the college and stories of our alumni, faculty, and students is disseminated through the semi-annual digital alumni newsletters, as well as in BROOME, our semi-annual alumni magazine. SUNY Broome Community College Workforce Development and Continuing Education
SUNY Broome Community College has an extensive non-credit continuing education program which serves as a conduit to the community by providing innovative educational experiences. We provide programs that meet workforce and professional development needs, health and wellness interests, youth programs and personal enrichment needs. In addition, SUNY Broome Workforce Development provides customized training and can facilitate bringing courses on-site for business and industry.
