LIT 200 - Introduction to Literature (WE)


An overview of the major literary genres and approaches to interpretation.  Students will practice the process of literary analysis in oral and written forms. This course is designated as a writing emphasis course (WE).

Prerequisite:  ENG 110 College Writing I

Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the conventions and methods of literature and literary analysis.
  2. Recognize and analyze nuance and complexity of meaning through critical reflections on texts.
  3. Use a multi-stage writing process to write effectively using tools and/or forms appropriate to the discipline.
