ART 111 - History of Decorative Arts: 1600-Present Introduction to the development of style in fabric, furniture and accessories for the interior from 1600 to the present. Emphasis will be placed on the history of American interiors. Required for interior design students, recommended for students in Art and Design and as an elective for students interested in history or American Studies.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Understanding of at least one principal form of artistic expression and the creative process inherent therein.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the conventions and methods of at least one of the humanities.
- Recognize and analyze nuance and complexity of meaning through critical reflections on text, visual images, or artifacts.
