PED 140 - Dance Pilates (CV) This course is designed to use techniques that build the core musculature of the body. The course will focus on the mind-body connection, aerobic movements including dance, stretching and core work. This is an active participatory course that helps strengthen the body, calm the mind, and enhance mobility, coordination, and flexibility.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of proper breathing techniques in Pilates and the importance of the mind-body connection.
- Identify a series of appropriate warm up and cool down exercises and the difference between the two.
- Perform a correct sequence of exercises that strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, and improve cardiovascular function.
- List the possible injuries that can occur from over-exertion and overuse, and steps that can be taken to prevent them.
