HLS 205 - Bioterrorism & Public Health Emergencies An examination of the roles and responsibilities of hospitals, public health agencies, and the emergency medical services system in preparing for, and responding to, natural and human-made disasters, including bioterrorism. This course explores the objectives and implementation of federal, state, and local health emergency management programs.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Describe the difference between public health and medicine.
- Identify legal and ethical issues in emergency medical services and disaster medicine.
- Explain current Federal, State, and local organizations and programs supporting health emergency management.
- Explain the threat posed by Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) weapons.
- Identify response actions for selected Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) weapons.
