FRS 105 - Fire Investigation The investigation of the cause and origin of fires, including natural, accidental, and incendiary, and the role and responsibilities of the investigator in making that determination.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Explain the standards for professional qualifications of a fire investigator.
- Describe the scientific method and how it applies to fire investigations.
- Identify and describe the elementary chemistry of combustion.
- Identify the methods of collecting, documenting, and preserving evidence.
- Define arson.
- Recognize the progression of a fire within a structure.
