BUS 275 - Accounting Information Systems Computer-based accounting systems with emphasis on development and implementation. Topics will include: creation of a general ledger, establishment of accounts receivable and billing procedures, management of cash and current liabilities, and payroll accounting. Also to be addressed is the development of a variety of custom management reports. The course will be divided into two parts. During part one students will learn the tools necessary to implement an accounting system. Part two will consist of students working in teams to develop a system.
Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: BUS 200 Intermediate Accounting I or permission of instructor
Credits: 4 Hours 4 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and accounting software necessary to enter transactions and complete the accounting cycle into an Accounting Software Program such as Peachtree and QuickBooks.
