BUS 118 - Business Law I Law as an evolutionary and democratic process. Topics include torts and criminal law, court structure, ethical issues in business, administrative law, law-of-contracts, legal principles of agency, employment rights and an introduction to business organizations including partnerships.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of legal terminology and basic common, tort, constitutional, criminal, administrative, and contract law.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ethical issues in a business law context.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify factually simple contract issues using basic common law or UCC rules.
- Demonstrate the ability to explain the different legal forms for business organizations including partnerships.
- Demonstrate understanding to spot legal issues in business and consult an expert when necessary.
