Mission

The mission of the Entrepreneurship Certificate is to prepare prospective entrepreneurs in the fundamentals of starting and operating a business. Through practical application of knowledge related to entrepreneurship in classes taught by business leaders and faculty with entrepreneurial skills, students will be prepared to start their own business venture. Graduates may also wish to apply credits earned in the certificate program towards the AAS in Marketing, Management, and Sales.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to utilize financial applications software.
  2. Students will be able to understand the process for analyzing and marketing a business opportunity.
  3. Students will be able to develop a business plan

The certificate program is designed to prepare prospective entrepreneurs to launch new ventures by educating them in the fundamentals of starting and operating their own business. For entrepreneurs who already have an established business, the program will help them strengthen their business and managerial skills

Students may complete the program in two semesters. Students should check with their advisor during the scheduling process to make sure courses are taken in proper sequence and any prerequisites have been met. Some flexibility is available as to when courses must be taken, but not all courses are offered every semester. Students will be able to apply the credits earned towards an AAS degree in Business: Marketing, Management and Sales.

Program Entrance Requirements 

Satisfactory completion of the writing, reading and mathematics placement test. Students may be required to take additional coursework in these areas depending on the placement test results.
