Associate in Science Degree
Students whose tansfer goals for baccalaureate study cannot be attained through existing programs may be allowed to structure individualized degree programs. Qualified students, with their advisor, develop an academic plan for degree completion or an “Advised Career Pathway” that will allow selection of the combination General Education and concentration area coursework that will meet the transfer program requirements.
This is not a program for students unsure of their goals or simply exploring several areas of study.
For additional information, consult an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Department, Student Services Building, Room 210, 607 778-5421 or contact the Program Supervisor.

Advised Career Pathway and Concentration Electives: 33 Credits Minimum
The area of concentration is designed to provide the flexibility required to prepare for a variety of programs at institutions of higher education. Students create an academic plan for degree completion based on consultation with a transfer counselor at the selected transfer institution or based on one of the many articulation agreements between SUNY Broome and transfer schools.
Students who know the field of study they wish to pursue but have not selected a transfer institution, may pursue an Advised Career Pathway designed to provide a foundation for courses generally required in the student’s chosen field.
This planning avoids duplication and ensures that the appropriate coursework aligns with transfer institution requirements.
