BIT 142 - Social Media for Professional Use This course introduces students to the core functions and professional applications of a variety of social media tools, including: blogs, microblogs, mobile and cloud-based applications, and personal and professional networking platforms. Students will learn how organizations use social media to support communication, collaboration, productivity, and marketing initiatives. The course also explores social media analytics, emphasizing how to measure consumer engagement and using data to improve strategy and outcomes.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Analyze the role of social media in shaping communication, collaboration, productivity, marketing, and branding across personal, professional, and organizational settings.
- Evaluate social media platforms, tools, and mobile applications to determine their effectiveness and appropriate use in business environments.
- Apply social media tools and analytics to support communication, collaboration, marketing strategies, and consumer engagement.
- Diagnose and resolve common challenges related to the use of social media tools in professional or organizational contexts.
