BUS 122 - Self-Management The main purpose of this course is to improve student learning and retention on a department-wide scale. Self-Management seeks to increase student learning by assisting students in developing and mastering the self-management and workforce readiness skills necessary to achieve their academic and career goals. In addition, the course will connect students with faculty mentors who will educate and advise students on the following academic matters: academic planning and registration, college codes of conduct, college transfer, internships, employment, college and departmental policies and procedures, and college technology training including: MyCollege, Banner, Starfish, and DegreeWorks. Required course for all business students.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hour Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Understand the methods social scientists use to explore social phenomena, including observation, hypothesis development, measurement and data collection, experimentation, evaluation of evidence, and employment of mathematical and interpretive analysis.
- Demonstrate knowledge of major concepts, models and issues of at least one discipline in the social sciences.
- Use Technology Skills: Students will demonstrate competence in selecting, using, and applying academic technology systems, and workforce related tasks.
