PED 100 - Archery Fundamentals of shooting - seven-step approach. Proper target shooting technique and form stressed.
Credits: (1/2) Hours 4 Class Hours, 11 Laboratory Hours per semester Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Identify and execute with proficiency the seven steps of shooting the bow and arrow. This includes the following steps: stance, draw, anchor, aim, release, follow through and after-hold.
- Recognize and name the parts of the bow, arrow and target.
- Recognize and apply the basic safety procedures when shooting the bow.
- Demonstrate minimal levels of accuracy when shooting the bow at 11, 13, 15, and 18 yard distances.
