BIO 132 - Anatomy & Physiology II
A continuation of BIO 131 Anatomy & Physiology I covering the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and endocrine systems. Emphasis on physiology in lectures and on anatomy in laboratory, stressing those aspects which have the greatest relevance to the student’s curriculum.

Prerequisite: BIO 131 Anatomy & Physiology I or permission of chairperson

Course Profile
Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Recognize the anatomical structures and explain the physiological functions of the circulatory and lymphatic systems.
- Recognize the anatomical structures and explain the physiological functions of the respiratory system including the associated blood chemistry.
- Recognize the anatomical structures and explain the physiological functions of the digestive system, including the uses of digested nutrients in the various metabolic pathways.
- Recognize the anatomical structures and explain the physiological functions of the urinary system and its role in maintaining fluid-electrolyte balance.
- Recognize the anatomical structures and explain the physiological functions of the endocrine and reproductive systems, including the effects of hormone levels on menstrual and ovarian cycles.
