ANT 112 - Introduction to Archaeology An introduction to current archaeological issues, methods, and theories. The nature of archaeological data and the means by which they are gathered, analyzed, dated, and interpreted, will be considered by reviewing current research on both prehistoric and historic sites. Scientific methods of research formulation, survey, excavation and analysis will be emphasized in both the laboratory and lecture.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Identify the major theories used by archaeologists.
- Define major archaeological concepts.
- Identify the major scientific methods used by archaeologists.
- Analyze archaeological data using one or more of the models employed by archaeologists.
