POS 204 - American State and Local Government Theory and practice of state and local government, utilizing a problem-solving or “policy” approach. Students are encouraged to explore in depth the workings of city and county governments locally. Satisfies the civic education requirement.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Identify the major theories used by political scientists to study State and Local government.
- Identify the major research methods used by political scientists to study State and Local government.
- Analyze political behavior using at least one of the major theories used by political scientists.
- Discuss contemporary political issues from the political science perspective.
