PED 175 - Weight Training Introduction to the Universal Gym and free weights as a means of physical conditioning. Components of fitness and principles of training discussed. Several strength building prescriptions presented, including free weights.
Credits: (1/2) Hours 3 Class Hours, 12 Laboratory Hours per half semester Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Complete a 1 mile run.
- Perform 20 pushups and 20 sit-ups.
- Complete 2 circuits of training in the weight room each class.
- Do workouts with dumbbells and free weights.
- Learn the wellness value of regular exercise.
