MAT 130 - Applied Algebra and Trigonometry
Designed for students in the Engineering Technologies only, the course covers algebra and trigonometry emphasizing computational skills and graphing using application problems from technology fields. Topics include: function definition, graphs, exponents, logarithms, trigonometric identities, complex numbers and vectors.

Prerequisite: MAT 096 Elementary Algebra and Trigonometry or equivalent

Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Recognize and graph linear functions, polynomials, rational functions, exponential functions and logarithmic functions.
- Solve applications involving linear functions, polynomials, rational functions, exponential functions and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions.
- Solve equations and manipulate expressions involving polynomials, rational functions, exponential functions and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions.
- Use graphing calculator technology to solve problems.
