Mission
The mission of the Mechanical EngineeringTechnology Program is to prepare students for careers as engineering technicians with an A.A.S. degree and/or transfer into a Bachelors of Engineering Technology program. The program utilizes small classes to provide quality instruction of the fundamental theoretical concepts of mechanical technology as well as extensive hands-on practice of these concepts in a modern laboratory setting. Our faculty are proud to work with employers and four-year colleges to continuously improve the program and maintain ABET accreditation.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program will demonstrate:
- The technical ability, with substantial independence, to manufacture, analyze and test mechanical components and systems.
- The technical capability to participate in the design of mechanical components and systems.
- The readiness and social skills necessary for team achievement of organizational goals.
- The ability to continue their education and successfully complete a Bachelor degree.
- An understanding of the interrelationship of the graduate, the organization, and society, and an awareness of the issues affecting that relationship.

The Mechanical Technology program is designed to prepare students in the applied aspects of engineering. The program emphasizes the application of fundamental engineering principles while utilizing up-to-date equipment and techniques, and is the broadest of all engineering technology disciplines, allowing graduates to pursue careers in many segments of industry. The program incorporates Engineering Materials, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Mechanical Drawing and Design – CAD, Manufacturing Processes and Quality Assurance.
