Program Learning Outcomes
- Design, plan, market, promote and stage an event including weddings, meetings and conventions.
- Effectively structure and manage an event planning schedule to improve profitability.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and feasibility studies.
- Financially manage an event to accomplish budgetary goals.
- Identify and prioritize event goals and objectives.
- Understand appropriate protocol and decorum for various event types.
- Properly staff an event.

The Event Management Certificate becomes part of the “Hospitality Suite” of program offerings that provide for a large range of job opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures. Event Management professionals are employed or own businesses as wedding planners, special event managers, special event interior designers, event center directors, corporate meeting planners, corporate concierges, casino event managers, trade show managers, exposition managers - the list goes on and on. This exciting and growing profession also provides ample opportunity for low initial investment small business ownership opportunities.
