The Paralegal Certificate emphasizes both the theory and the practice of paralegal procedures essential for employment in a law office or other legal settings.

Students may complete the program in 9 months if they take the required courses in the proper sequence, or they may take longer if they wish. Courses are offered day, evening, or online. Students should check with their advisor during the scheduling process to make sure courses are taken in proper sequence and any prerequisites have been met. Some flexibility is available as to when courses must be taken, but not all courses are offered every semester. All students must complete the core requirements below, and then complete at least an additional 18 credits chosen from the designated electives. With proper planning and advisement, students may be able to apply most of the credits earned towards an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies.
