Sports Management: A.S.

The Sports Management program is a sequence of courses in Sports Management, general Business, and general education that leads to an Associate in Science degree in Sports Management.  The program is designed to transfer to four year institutions to continue study in Sports Management.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Students will complete a course of study preparing them to transfer to a Sports Management Bachelor’s degree program.
  2. Students will demonstrate, orally and in writing, a working knowledge of the sport industry and its role in our economy.
  3.  Students will demonstrate, orally and in writing, a working knowledge of the societal impact of sports and the sport industry.
  4. Students will demonstrate, orally and in writing, a working knowledge of the sport industry settings including community sport, interscholastic and intercollegiate sport, professional sport, sport tourism and sport management agencies.
  5. Students will demonstrate, orally and in writing, a working knowledge of the functional areas of the sport industry including marketing, communications, finance, law, and event and facility management.
  6. Students will demonstrate the ability to plan and execute a sport event or promotion.
  7. Students will demonstrate, in writing, good communications skills.
