Associate in Applied Science

The Financial Services program combines business and financial courses leading to an Associate in Applied Science degree. The degree prepares the student for immediate employment in banks and other financial institutions. Selected courses provide prelicensing preparation for New York State or Federal licensing exams in Life, Accident, and Health Insurance, Real Estate for Salespersons and Securities Training (Series 6 and 63).

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate evidence of an appropriate mastery of financial and insurance products and services and federal and state regulations as related to their use in personal and corporate money management decisions by submitting professional quality business reports utilizing fundamental analysis data.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively.
  3. Demonstrate a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in lifelong learning.
  4. Demonstrate an ability to understand professional, ethical, behavioral and social responsibilities, in a business context.
