PHI 206 - Social and Political Philosophy A philosophical study of the social/political organization of society through an examination of such topics as justice, authority, leadership, individual rights, and of the relationship between the state and various social institutions, such as family, business, church, and education.
Credits: 3 Hours 3 Class Hours Course Profile Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. Describe the scope of social and political philosophy.
2. Identify some fo the major classical theories of social and political philosophy.
3. Identify some of the modern theories of social and political philosophy.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental conventions of argument in social and political philosophy.
