BIT 185 - Photoshop for Mobile, Web, and Print


An introduction to Adobe Photoshop, the industry-standard software for creating and editing raster graphics. Students learn to create, scan, and enhance images and text for print, multimedia, and web design. Emphasis is placed on image manipulation, photo restoration, digital illustration, and creating simple animations. Students are also introduced to tools for working with vector graphics and typography.

Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Create and edit digital images in Adobe Photoshop using layers, color modes, blending techniques, and selection tools.
  2. Apply compositing, filters, adjustments, and retouching techniques to enhance and manipulate images.
  3. Design graphics that integrate text, typography, and visual effects for clear and effective communication.
  4. Prepare, produce, and present a complete Photoshop project optimized for appropriate formats and output requirements.
  5. Apply artificial intelligence tools and techniques to solve real-world problems, enhance decision-making, and improve efficiency within a business or professional context, while demonstrating awareness of ethical considerations and data integrity.
