BIT 180 - Digital Media Tools and Tactics


This course will center on advanced digital media marketing, targeting, and content creation to enhance students' social media skills.  A variety of apps will be used to develop digital content components based on targeted market demographics, prepare students for delivery, and set up tracking, reporting, and analytics of engagement.  Content creation and implementation will include streaming media, live content, virtual reality, and interactive content.  Students will learn how AI is used for prediction, alerts, and real time content adjustment.  This course will also explore the use of Internet of Things (IoT) in social media campaigns.

Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Develop digital content components, which can serve as compelling rewards for subscribers and registrants, can be targeted at specific demographic groups, and for subscription platforms, community building, and synchronous events.
  2. Articulate how the Internet of Things (IoT) might be employed to take advantage of devices capable of storing, analyzing and sharing information that is utilized to achieve higher ROI in campaigns.  
  3. Illustrate tracked lead capture campaigns with automatic responses, content delivery chains, and use of AI for timely and efficient responses.
  4. Prepare content for delivery via YouTube and other social media outlets, and setup reporting and analysis of engagement levels and results.
