Lodging and Casino Management prepares individuals to manage a variety of lodging operations including, but not limited to, hotels, resorts, motels, bed and breakfasts, casinos and gaming establishments.  It includes instruction in front office operations, casino gaming, hospitality business ethics and law, hospitality marketing and human resources, the mathematics of gaming and the psychology of advertising and addiction.  Students are prepared for careers across a broad spectrum of hospitality venues both internationally and domestic.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand the function of a lodging operation’s front office.
  2. Understand the basics of lodging and casino management events and event management.
  3. Understand and describe the hospitality lodging and gaming regulations and laws found throughout the industry.
  4. Possess an understanding of basic requirements for hospitality marketing and promotions specific to the lodging and gaming industry.
  5. Possess an introductory understanding of lodging and gaming financial and cost accounting control found in a variety of hospitality venues.
