Mission

The mission of the Mechanical Technology program is to prepare students for careers as engineering technicians with an AAS degree and/or transfer into a Bachelors of Engineering Technology program. The program utilizes small classes to provide quality instruction of the fundamental theoretical concepts of mechanical engineering technology as well as extensive hands-on practice of these concepts in a modern laboratory setting. Our faculty are proud to work with employers and four-year colleges to continuously improve the program.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Mechanical Technology program will demonstrate:

  1. The technical ability, with substantial independence, to manufacture, analyze and test mechanical components and systems.
  2. The technical capability to participate in the design of mechanical components and systems.
  3. The readiness and social skills necessary for team achievement of organizational goals.
  4. The ability to continue their education and successfully complete a Bachelor degree.
  5. An understanding of the interrelationship of the graduate, the organization, and society, and an awareness of the issues affecting that relationship.
