HIT 240 - Pathophysiology & Pharmacology The study of major disease processes, by body system, including their etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Students will learn which diagnostic tests are used, as well as the appropriate surgical techniques. Basic pharmacology and the most commonly used drugs will be discussed.
Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: HIT 106 Medical Terminology

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Answer questions about the condition, findings, and treatments for specific patients.
- Identify inconsistent combinations of diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
- Describe signs and symptoms of specific diseases.
- Explain how a diagnosis is made for a specific disease.
- Explain common forms of treatment for specific diseases.
- Recognize basic principles of pharmacology.
