Course Profile
Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines to assign accurate diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign Complication/Comorbidity (CCs), Major Complication/Comorbidity (MCCs), Hospital Acquired Condition (HACs), and Present on Admission (POA) indicators following official guidelines.
- Validate code selections using encoder software and Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) tools.
- Evaluate discrepancies between manual coding and technology-assisted coding.
- Conduct audit reviews to detect any performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
