ECE 211 - Children with Special Needs II
This course provides a deeper examination of important topics in Special Education to better support children with special needs and their families in early childhood settings. Students will explore the relationship between development, environment, relationships and behaviors as a way to enhance understanding of the children in today’s world.

Course Profile
Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge in the differentiation of curriculum to meet the individual learning needs of all students.
- Illustrate an understanding of the principles and importance of a multi-tiered system of support for behaviors as well as positive behavior management strategies to address student needs.
- Explain the importance that family-teacher partnerships have in the educational process.
- Examine the components of the NYS Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities and how it relates to everyday classroom practices.
