Learning Outcomes of the Course:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Set short, intermediate and long-term financial goals as part of a personal financial plan.
  2. Understand the basics of cash management including personal financial statements, budgeting, savings alternatives, income taxes and use of credit for home and consumer purchase.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the main types of insurance and how to protect income and assets through the use of insurance.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of stocks and bonds and how to invest to achieve personal financial goals.
  5. Plan for retirement and estate transfer.
